| Benefits of implants
When a single tooth is missing:
an implant allows replacing the tooth with a crown, achieving an effect very similar to that of the natural teeth and avoiding having to put in a bridge.
This allows keeping the teeth adjacent to the missing one intact, which is particularly beneficial if these are healthy.
When several adjacent teeth are missing:
the dentist may advise implantation if he thinks that there is a risk of a conventional bridge fracturing or decementing because it is too long, or because supported by too weak “pillar teeth”. Implants thus allow giving the bridge additional support.

OTHER CASES: implants allow avoiding a removable prosthesis, or at least providing an anchorage to make it more stable so that it is more comfortable to talk, chew and smile. |
