A prosthesis on an implant may be more costly and take longer than other types of prosthesis.
Although the percentage success of implants is very high (around 95% ), there is nevertheless a risk of failure, which may occur in the first few months because of failed osteointegration, or later as a result of improper oral hygiene, excessive masticatory load or other causes.
